West Coast Theoretical Chemistry Symposium: Location

Sapp Center, Stanford University, 28th March 2018, 8:00am - 6:00pm

The Sapp Center at Stanford University can be easily reached by Caltrain using the Palo Alto stop. From the Palo Alto Caltrain station the Sapp center can be reached by a 20 mins walk (~1 mile) or by using the free Marguerite shuttle service.

Using public transport is recommended although pay parking for the event is available in the Galvez Lot (L-96) which is 12 mins (0.6 miles) walk from the Sapp Center at the rate of $8 for the entire day. It is highly recommended that you use this parking lot since most other parking lots at Stanford require a permit or are much more expensive (and are often limited to a maximum number of hours you can park there). To park at the Galvez parking lot for the $8 per day rate follow these instructions when you arrive:

1. First park and remember your stall number.
2. Go to the pay machine in the lot and touch any key to exit the intro screen.
3. Enter your stall number and Press [OK] to Continue.
4. Select #1 to Purchase a Ticket.
5. On the next screen, select (1) for Incremental or (2) for All Day Parking. If arriving after 10:45 use the incremental option without an event code and skip to step 9.
6. If All Day parking is selected, select "Yes" when it asks if you have an event code.
7. Enter the event code number (2502) and press OK.
8. Once the code is entered, you'll receive a message that says "Get Ready for Payment".
9. Insert your Visa/MasterCard or cash payment (if incremental rate was selected and paying by credit card, increase the expiration time by pressing the '1' key). If paying by cash, depositing more money increases the expiration time.
